Opening in 2019 in Midtown Atlanta in partnership with the Winship Cancer Institute, the Emory Proton Therapy Center will start providing next-gen radiation oncology through proton therapy for patients with cancer.
By 2021, the Emory Proton Therapy Center will be fully equipped with 4 proton therapy rooms to treat up to 1700 patients with cancerous tumors or masses.
Covering 108,000 square feet and rising 3 floors high, every treatment room and corridor of this $229 million facility is designed to make the experience at Emory comfortable and calm, so that patients will enjoy a healing, relaxed feeling during treatment.
The Emory Proton Center features the Probeam Multiroom Solution developed by Varian Medical Systems. As the latest in radiation oncology, the proton therapy system by Varian makes treatment easier for the patient by allowing for faster, more efficient treatment times than other proton delivery solutions.
